In addition to serving as board Chair, Jonathan is our pianist, guitarist, and music leader. He is the father of a son with Williams Syndrome who has taught him so much about life and faith. Along with his wife Kim, he has a daughter Lydia, and two sons, Noah and Benjamin. He is an ordained minister and has a heart for those who are differently-abled treasures in God’s kingdom.
He wants others to experience the love and care of Jesus and God’s community called the church. Jonathan currently serves as Director of Development for Pinecrest Community in Mt. Morris, Illinois. His experience includes seven years as a pastor in Pomona, CA and eight years as an educator and program director at the Brethren Academy for Ministerial Leadership. He served eight years as executive director for congregational life ministries with the national staff of the Church of the Brethren in Elgin, IL. Jonathan has degrees from Elizabethtown College (PA), Bethany Theological Seminary (IL), and Fuller Seminary (CA), and is currently a student at North Park University.
For fun and renewal he plays the piano, guitar and trombone, and is a singer-songwriter and choir director. He also enjoys working in his garden, running recreationally, working with his hands, camping, and cheering on Chicago sports teams. Jonathan is always looking for signs of God’s grace and trying his best to follow Jesus’ compassionate way of being present in this world.
