Dawn, MT-BC, is a board certified music therapist in West Michigan.  She received her music therapy degree from Michigan State University and owns Lakeshore Music Therapy Services. She primarily contracts with schools, providing music therapy to students in special education settings. Many of her students are non-verbal, non-ambulatory, and/or have behavioral disorders, autism, or multiple impairments. She also teaches adapted guitar & dance, assisting students in preparing special music for church, community functions, or personal leisure.

Dawn most enjoys using music to aid clients in finding and using their inner voice and confidence. She has a particular interest in using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) in music therapy.

Dawn is also trained as a disaster response volunteer for Children’s Disaster Services, has served as director of Church of the Brethren work-camps for middle and senior high youth, and is a member of Common Spirit Church of the Brethren, Grand Rapids, MI.
